Home Sweet Home!

We made our way to the airport to fly Jet Blue home.  We took our bags on but was able to gate check the big ones.  They were excited to take their first long airplane ride. I let them sit together the first part with Z on window and Miles in middle.  One hour in and when Miles went to restroom, took over the middle seat!  They were just a bit too noisy together!  It was a wise mood as Miles watched a movie and Zachy and talked, made faces out of the clouds and talked.  I think he talked for the last 4 hours!  Makes me realize how much he does have to say and how much he needs that one on one sometimes.

He is a bundle of energy and just never stops horsing around and getting into mischief!  I told the boys early on that when I said stop or someone will get hurt and they don't---well I have no sympathy if someone gets hurt so don't bother to tell me!  So many times, one would cry out and I would look at them with that adult I told you so and they would stop!

They were really great little travelers.  We had the tablets but managed to get them put down most of the day.  But long stretches does require compromise and to tell you the truth, sometimes adults just need the peace and quiet!

We did a lot in 12 days and considering they were only 5 & 7, they did amazing!  I think it helps that the boys are so affectionate and verbal with their love yous and thank yous.  They do appreciate your willingness to give them a great memory.

When we got back and everyone asked what was their favorite part, they both said Grand Canyon! Oh, they talked about Legoland, the Stimulator, etc but the Grand Canyon left the biggest impression.

Which makes me wonder, 2019 Alaska?!  Maybe with others joining us as Jim and I celebrate 50 years of marriage?!
